We are a Church of England Church in Blackheath, with a wide range of people of all ages and backgrounds. In all our services we aim to worship God through Jesus Christ and learn from the Bible together, because we believe it is the primary way in which God helps and guides us in our lives. There is a warmth and friendliness about the people of St Michael’s that often makes visitors want to stay and become part of things.

We are now back in our newly refurbished main church building following a year of works. Our principal service is at 10.30 am on a Sunday morning. There is a crèche for the under-3s and different groups for 3-6s, 7-11s and 11 -14s. Evening services at 6.30pm are smaller. Once a month there is a communion service according to the Book of Common Prayer at 9am. We have a number of home groups and a wide variety of different social events which draw our church community together. For more information consult our Values and Get Involved pages.

Lent Calendar

There’s a lot happening at St Michael & All Angels over Lent. Keep track of everything with our handy Lent Calendar. Do check back as we’ll be updating it as more events are added.

Open House Groups

It’s quite daunting to try out homegroups, and if one doesn’t particularly fit not coming back then worrying you might have upset someone. Which is why we are running Open House Groups over Lent.  The rules are (a) you need only attend once, (b) you can attend any you like and (c) we’ll all be studying Luke’s account of the Passion. For further information look at the Lent calendar, contact homegroup@se3.org.uk or speak to Alex and Mike Potts.

Church Floodlighting

St Michael’s is considering subtly lighting parts of the church exterior which we think will show the building to its best advantage while also enriching the ambience of the immediate surroundings of the church. We obviously also want to ensure that the light design does not cause interference to any neighbouring buildings nor create any undesirable impact on the locality. It would be subtle lighting and on a timed system and on no later than 11pm. Both Greenwich Council and Southwark Diocese have given permission for the scheme. If you have any questions or would like to contribute to the cost of the lighting, please contact the church office.
