St Michael’s is blessed with a large number of young children, and Sunday school has always been a key part of our church. There are activities for children and young people from 0-14 years old every Sunday at the same time as the morning service (except on the first Sunday of a month when we worship together in the church).
Climbers and Explorers
Climbers, for 3s to 7s and Explorers for 7s to 11s meet in the church and then go to their groups in the halls after the first 15 minutes of the Sunday morning service.
Pathfinders, for 11-14s, also meets during the morning service with different activities exploring our faith using material from Urban Saints.
Due to Covid restictions we are not yet allowed to run a crèche on Sundays, but will aim to do so as soon as regulations permit.
Friday Morning Mums is a welcoming and informal group for mothers of children of primary school age and younger. With young children it can be hard to get out to a home-group in the evening, so we meet during the day, just after the school drop-off! We meet for bible study, prayer, a cup of tea and a chat on Friday mornings during school term time, from 9.45-11.00am, in the small Musa Room in the Church Halls. Babies and pre-school children are welcome too – there are toys for them to play with while we talk.
