Phase 1 of our PRISM church building project is complete.
This was a major project, taking 10 months, restoring, repairing and renewing vital external stonework and doing internal improvements with new heating & lighting plus better sightlines & access and redecoration. The cost was £1,040,000. We have done a huge amount of fundraising, and successfully applied for some grants. We are very grateful for generous grants given by: Allchurches Trust; Garfield Weston Foundation; Morden College; Viridor Credits Environmental Company. We have also taken out £80k of interest free loans, repayable over 4 years. We hope that we now have both a splendid historic Georgian building that preserves the best of the past, & a modern flexible space with state of the art sound, visual & lighting systems, & a large seating capacity. That combination of old and new we think is very exciting.
Phase 2 of the project comprises:
- restoring the church boundary wall
- floodlighting the exterior
