Lauren Crisp-Hihn – Youth Minister

Hi I’m Lauren, the youth minister here at St Michael and All Angels Blackheath.

I’m one of those lucky people who get to do what they love everyday and that’s to support, love and encourage young people on their journey through life and invite them to get to know Jesus. At St M’s that takes lots of different shapes, from discipleship through Pathfinders and The Place, to young leadership programmes and Saints, our community Youth Cafe. I believe each young person is fearfully and wonderfully made and of unique value, and should be treated as such. I also get to drink a lot of coffee!

I live in Blackheath with my Husband and fellow youth worker Joe and our fluffy baby, Betsie, who is a Shorkie. As well as loving spending time with young people I have amazing friends and family who I try to be with as much as possible as well as being part of the wider community in Blackheath.

In addition to working for St M’s I’m also the Girls worker for Greenwich Youth For Christ. Here I have the privilege of tying together another of my passions which is Dance and fitness with my job as youth worker. In this project I travel around the local area to deliver self-esteem sessions to Girls combined with Zumba fitness classes in schools.

Hopefully this gives you a taste of who I am and what we offer at St M’s but if you’d like to know more, particually ‘what is a Shorkie’! then do get in contact.
